The best FrameMaker tip I know of is this: Make use of the "Copy Special" command under the Edit menu! Here are some real time-saving uses for it.
You ever tweaked the formatting for a paragraph and wanted to apply the same override to other paragraphs? Don't apply the style from the palette, because you will be getting the pristine format without the tweak! However, if you select Copy Special/Paragraph Format, you can then place the cursor into another paragraph and paste the style, overrides and all.
Character formatting can be painfully tedious as you sweep through a document (select, click style, select, click style, select, click style, etc.). Instead, after applying the style to the first selection, select Copy Special/Character Format. Then as you sweep through, you need only select and paste. Much less tormenting.
If you adjust column widths for a table and want a neighboring table to have the same width, select Copy Special/Table Column Width, place the cursor in the corresponding column in the next table, and paste.
